|L'Asino vola, B&B Italy||
a comfortable and spacious house of the early 20th century for few guests. L'Asino vola is a fine neapolitan pizzeria as well.
The house is located in the quaint old village of Murci with its many little squares, on the high hills of Saturnia, just 15 km away from the spa. We are in Tuscany, central Italy.
Visitors here get the impression of entering a timeless dimension. All our rooms are intentionally simple and cozy, so to make our guests feel in their own country house in the Tuscan Maremma.Site Designer: Recreation and HobbiesTravel & TourismBusinessTravel & TourismScreenshot Thumbnail: Tier: One Select ratingGive it 1/5Give it 2/5Give it 3/5Give it 4/5Give it 5/5Cancel rating No votes yet

|American Library Association||
Headquartered in Chicago, the renowned American Library Association (ALA) has been the leading voice for libraries and librarianship since 1876. Pixo partnered with ALA to build an enterprise, Drupal CMS platform with numerous integrations and custom multi-site management tools. We then migrated 70+ ALA websites to this new platform from a defunct, Serena Collage CMS.
ALA had an urgent need to retire the previous, defunct CMS (Serena Collage) and move quickly to a powerful, open-source CMS that it could rely on – all while automating the migration of 100,000+ pieces of content to this new platform without interrupting business.
Pixo created a robust, multi-site Drupal ecosystem allowing its autonomous sub-groups to have some flexibility but also exist within a consistent framework. Each part of ALA applied its own logo, branding and colors while retaining common elements for consistent ALA branding across the organization.
Pixo extended and customized Drupal’s tools for multi-site management. We created an automated process for migrating existing content.
We were able to automate the conversion of ALA’s entire web presence from its existing, extinct platform into Drupal 7, saving thousands of ALA man hours. Pixo’s “enterprise” Drupal methodology — an approach that includes performance optimization, content migration, and multi-site capabilities all in an accessible, user-friendly, well-designed package — was just what ALA needed.
We created a master control panel for ALA IT staff to easily manage administrative operations across the whole network of 70+ websites. Pixo crafted custom functionality to smartly share taxonomy/categories and share relevant content between the whole network of sites.
Pixo partnered with ALA staff to deliver training, QA, custom integrations, and management of a well-choreographed, phased roll-out.
We provided an enterprise Drupal hosting environment and trained ALA staff on operating it in-house in ALA’s data center. The platform includes Drupal and related high-performance tools such as Varnish, Memcache, Apache Solr (for search), and Shibboleth (for enterprise single sign-on).
Pixo formed a unique partnership with ALA in-house IT staff that resulted in a great amount of in-house knowledge and an effective and close-knit collaboration throughout the project. This included bringing ALA staff to Pixo headquarters for an intensive 8-day Drupal training event.
Pixo and ALA successfully migrated all websites so that the previous, defunct system could be retired. Pixo helped establish a long-term foundation within ALA for leveraging the open source Drupal platform at an enterprise level.
ALA’s many divisions and business units now have the ability to more easily update and manage their web content. Moreover, the ALA IT staff now have an enterprise platform that makes it easier to build and launch new Drupal website instances that automatically have enterprise management of permissions, themes and more baked in.Site Designer:

|TUI Travel - StudentCity||
StudentCity, a division of TUI Travel and sister company to GradCity, is North America’s leading tour operator for spring, winter, and summer break trips for college students. Their website redesign project included the need for a new visual identity that would appeal to and motivate their target audience to book a trip. In addition to a new creative design, building a responsive website was a priority as mobile devices receive heavy usage among college students.

|29elode - video learning platform||
29elode is the leading video educational platform in Italy. The courses are delivered as high quality HD videos. All presenters are real teachers and are hand picked by the 29elode editors.
AGILEDROP was approached by the client to migrate the platform from Drupal 6 to Drupal 7, to freshen up the design and to change the pricing model. Team has already had experience in delivering video content inside Drupal and was familiar with the Drupal Commerce modules stack.
The plan was not only to execute the migration from Drupal 6 to Drupal 7, but also to change the business model and redesign the website to be responsive. During the development we also added multilingual support and enabled the English version of the user interface.Data migration
From the old platform we only needed to import users and the information about their subscriptions. We built a module for the old D6 site that behaved like an API. When we went live we just changed the DNS records.Camtasia import
The requirement was that we use the HTML generated from Camtasia as our main interface for courses. This would mean that the chapters and videos would be stored without Drupal knowledge. We developed a module that imports the files generated by Camtasia. This is how we kept the uploading simple and the data structure still inside of Drupal.Subscriptions as relations
We store the relation between the customer and the course as an entity with the Relation module. Each successful order creates or updates the relation used to determine if the user has access to video. In comparison with Commerce licence, the Relation module enables us to do faster queries without loading the full entity.Custom video widget
When in “full browser mode” students can access chapter menu and switch between videos. This mimics the Camtasia output that students already liked. When the video finishes playing it also flags the video as done, providing a visual reminder for students as to where they stopped watching the course.Nginx + Xsend
The platform is hosted on Cloud.it cloud. Since all videos are stored as private files we would need to serve them with PHP, which uses a lot of resources. Our solution was to move from Apache to Nginx where we used Xsend and pseudo streaming to speed up the videos.Overall
We were not only able to deliver the requirements set up by the client, but also to over delivered. Some of the architectural decisions are enabling us to build new features on top of the data we have. 29elode’s long term goal is to turn into an e-learning platform is now possible without having to be rebuilt.Site Designer: Online LearningTags: videoeducationEcomerce Select ratingGive it 1/5Give it 2/5Give it 3/5Give it 4/5Give it 5/5Cancel rating Average: 5 (1 vote)
