drupal vs wordpress
Sometimes I curse the day I discovered drupal. I learned wordpress first and then drupal. Using drupal for a personal blog is like weeding with a nuclear bomb. When you need to beyond that drupal is perfect but the learning curve is super steep.

I'm not much into drupal's
I'm not much into drupal's technicals yet, but I can tell this is a fair comparison. I'm using modx, drupal and wordpress regularly and modx is way more technical and extensible than both drupal and wordpress. Wordpress is total crap in extensibility, but it's so easy for new users and you can't ignore it. Drupal so far stays in the middle for me - more flexible than WP and not that tech oriented as modx it can be called the golden middle in a way :)

They aren't in the same
They aren't in the same category.
WordPress: simple, less features, just blogging ...
Drupal: more complex, lot of features (blogging too, but also forums, galleries ...), powerful templating system - themes (live demo at themegarden.org)
If you need more than a simple blogging platform, drupal is better choice.

Themes are a challenge
Drupal is still struggling with the image uploading question, and also lack of a wide selection of themes. For the casual user, being able to search the web and see thousands of gorgeous themes ready to go, Wordpress ends up as the winner. Of course we're trying to help change that too by showing that Drupal themes can be beautiful :)
Nice comparison but I'm
Nice comparison but I'm using blogger right now. Is there any Blogger vs. Drupal comparison?

"little complex at first"
I think "little complex at first" is an understatement. Drupal is extremely complex and it's not at all ready to use for blogs out of the box. Installing FCKEditor is not easy and without that you can't add images to your posts.
I switched to wordpress. My experience:
