Which is the Best Drupal CMS Web Hosting Provider

Drupal websites work on LAMP technology stack and any webhosting provider can be used for hosting your Drupal website. However your requirements and budget will determine which host you should select. A Large, High traffic Drupal site like Whitehouse.gov has completely different requirements compared to your average Drupal blog. Speed, Stability and Performance are important for both, But as the scale increases so does the technology and cost of hosting.

If your website demands high speed , choose a hosting provider which offers APC, and support for Varnish and Memcache. These tools can be installed on any VPS server but it takes some expertise to configure and tweak them.

For Large websites where budget is not a problem the Following providers give Drupal Specific Hosting. When I say Drupal specific I mean following features and Managed hosting
  1. Varnish (HTTP accelerator)
  2. APC
  3. Redis or Memcache
  4. Drupal Tuned Stack
  5. Drupal Focused Support
  6. One-click Installs
  7. Elastic Resources - Scaleable
  8. Up-time Guarantees
  9. Developer Tools Multidev
  10. Free Development and Test Servers
  11. Container Based Infrastructure

While you can install and manage Varnish, MemCache, APC, etc yourself, it does take time and effort to manage it. Its best outsourced to others while you focus on your website content , marketing and sales.

Checkout the following hosting providers
However both companies provide free hosting for  Developer with a community site. You only need to put their link in footer.

$5 starting plan BEWARE !!! ,   -  AN Hosting, Green Geeks, Arvixe , BlueHost are some commonly mentioned Drupal Hosting companies on Drupal website. Please ensure that you throughly read the reviews on WebhostingTalk.com and other sites before you sign-up with any of these. If you have a small website it will work fine, But any UNLIMITED plan comes up with lot of caveats which you will only learn once your traffic increases. These hosting providers will not give the high speed and performance features mentioned above since its a shared hosting environment.  Pay for bandwidth and Disk space both, only then you can be sure of getting some good hosting company. Avoid the TOP 10 Review websites for webhosting, which provide some star ratings, read real user reviews and experiences in forums. Else you will be fooled into signing up with one of the above. I am not saying that above hosting companies are bad but they may not meet needs of large and medium size websites.

My current website is not even hosted on any of the above as it has low traffic. I have reseller hosting from a small hosting provider Hawk Host.
